At the 106th plenary session of the Central European Commission for Brewing Analysis (MEBAK) on April 10, 2026, Dr. Jennifer Schneiderbanger was unanimously elected as a full member.
Dr. Jennifer Schneiderbanger studied brewing and beverage technology at the Technical University of Munich, earning a degree in engineering, and completed her doctorate at the Weihenstephan Research Center for Brewing and Food Quality in the field of brewery microbiology. In her dissertation, she focused on the occurrence and detection of beer-spoiling bacteria as well as their specific characteristics.
Between 2016 and 2019, she worked in local breweries before returning to TUM in 2019 to join the Chair of Brewing and Beverage Technology. Since 2022, she has been overseeing the department’s laboratories as laboratory director. In her role as laboratory director, Dr. Schneiderbanger continues to focus on brewery microbiology, now expanded to include issues such as the genetic modification of microorganisms within the context of beverage biotechnology. In addition to the Instrumental Analysis and Testing Laboratory departments (Chemical-Technical Department), her area of responsibility also includes the Chair’s small-scale malting facility, including experiments related to the Berlin Program.
The MEBAK expert group is pleased to welcome Dr. Jennifer Schneiderbanger.
