New member – Dr. Florian Lehnhardt

On the occasion of the 100th plenary meeting of the MEBAK on April 21, 2023 in Bitburg, Dr. Florian Lehnhardt was unanimously elected as a full member.

Florian Lehnhardt studied food chemistry at the Technical University of Munich (2011 – 2016) with a 6-month research stay at the National University of Singapore. This was followed by a doctorate position from 2016 to 2021 at the Chair of Brewing and Beverage Technology at TUM (graduation 2022). In the research group Raw Material Oriented Brewing and Beverage Technology, his doctoral research focused on aroma-active substances of aged beer, their precursor compounds and alternative prediction methods of aging instability of light full-bodied beers. In addition, he headed the sensory lab of the department from 2018 to 2021.

Since 2022, he has been working as department head of instrumental analytics at the Weihenstephan Research Center for Brewing and Food Quality at TUM. The members of MEBAK are pleased to welcome Dr. Lehnhardt to their expert panel.
