Application/Purpose

Hops are evaluated with regard to damage caused by infection with Peronospora, as well as damage caused by pests such as black spots (aphids), bronze leaf discoloration (spider mites), reddish discoloration (gall midges) and cone death, in addition to excessive leaf growth and fertilization. Discoloration due to wind damage is not penalized.

Whole hops intended for use in beer brewing or elsewhere in the food industry

Evaluation of the appearance of hop cones is performed through visual and manual inspection.
