On 2021-12-08, Dr. phil. Helmuth Schwarz passed away at the age of 76. Dr. Schwarz was the director of the former "Versuchsstation der Österreichischen Brauereien", which was renamed the "Österreichische Getränkeinstitut" in 1991. Under his leadership, the Institute's job description changed from "brewer and maltster" to "brewing and beverage technician" in 2005, among other things.
