Boiler feed water for use in the production of beer and other foods
Phosphate is added to the boiler through the boiler feed water. The purpose of this practice is to prevent any unforeseen drops in the level of hardness of the boiler feed water. The more effective and consistent the boiler water treatment and/or the higher the thermal stress on the heating surfaces, the lower the amount of supplemental phosphates must be added.
