W-030.03.900 [2021-03] Monitoring the Removal of Carbonates in Brewing Liquor

Application/Purpose

The method describes how to monitor the removal of carbonates from brewing liquor. Samples should be taken at the outlet of the water treatment system or at the points in the brewery where the brewing liquor is utilized, in order to monitor whether the removal of carbonates during the treatment process is sufficient.

Scope of Application

Water intended for use as an ingredient in the production of beer (brewing liquor) or other foods

Principle

The level of carbonate removal in the water treatment system is monitored using the analysis for the p and m values. The standard values specified in the analysis should not be exceeded.
